I didn't manage to make a project with the first book, The Tooth of Time, but I didn't want to miss out this time. I, too, noticed the reference to "trendy washcloths" in Knit One, Kill Two, and I thought that might make a good project. As I read further, I was also struck by the image of the red and yellow tulips that lined the walkway to Martha's house. The two images finally came together, and I decided to knit red and yellow tulip washcloths:
Unfortunately, the tulip pattern didn't photograph very well, so you have to use your imagination a bit. I used Crystal Palace Cotton Chenille yarn and a pattern from the book Garden Dishcloths to Knit by Melissa Bergland Burnham.

Great minds think alike - at least three of us picked up on that one little paragraph about washcloths!
You connected even more with the red and yellow tulips and the chenille yarn, which I still want to try.
